Just Because Things Break Doesn’t Mean They’re Broken…. . ././ .
Ok,… . /. So i can now confirm that my new solo show ‘Just Because Things Break Doesn’t Mean They’re Broken’ will open on 15th of April 2013.. .. /. In conjunction with The Painting Pottery Cafe, Brighton.. /. It will run for three weeks and the reason i’m really very excited about this show is that it gives you the viewer an opportunity to get some free art and even take a part in creating your own.. .. .//.
I will be taking all of the broken pottery and plates and breaking them even further and then painting them to be given away to unsuspecting finders. I will be scattering them across the streets of Brighton, And the deal is those who find the pieces get to keep them, but i urge those finders to bring them to the opening of the show to try and reassemble all of the broken pieces into one whole piece of interactive art…/ . // I will be running a trial on the 4th February by dropping a large hand full of fragments in the center of Brighton, with the hope that they will be reassembled on the 7th at Brighton Uni (grande parade) in the court yard. So for those Brightonian followers keep your eyes peeled and watch this space for more details.. . .. /./

Public transport is a big influence on my work.. /its where i begrudgingly spend a lot of my time and its definitely one of the strangest environments i have to endure…./. Only humans could invent an environment where you are completely surrounded by your own kind, but you sit in complete silence. Then once you are off and back on to the streets you call yourselves social creatures. /./../ I am not a social creature../. And to be honest i quite like the uptight silence.. /.

This March i am part of an incredible exhibition put on by I LOVE ART UK. It brings together 13 women and 13 men from all artistic walks to celebrate the similarities and differences we all share and it co insides with international women’s day. It is going to be one of the more beautiful venues i’ve had my work displayed in and one of the most diverse group shows i’ve ever been part of, But don’t take my word for it look for your self…….. ././. Each week two new artist get announced so theres plenty more to come still… . ./.

So yesterday filming went extremely well…/ .Got all the shots necessary and even had time for a little urban exploring.. / Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the photos of new paintings promised, I’d say that 50% of them are usable so whilst I’m working my way through the pile i am going to be very cruel and post these three paintings which are all revisits to old paintings..//. I never really liked the paintings in the first place so i chopped them up re painted them and put them back together again…… . . . . ./. I have posted pictures of these three pieces over the past month or so but these photos are much better quality../.
But don’t worry your selves i will also do another post this evening of a completely new piece… . One i am very proud of… . /. /.

Get Ready… //./.
Regular followers will have noticed a distinct lack in posts of new paintings and a constant promise of new photos../. Well this weekend i will be filming for a short promo film to be released along side this years 13 Women exhibition opening in March 2013.
This means that i will also have access to a beautiful HD camera all weekend so you can all expect a backlog of paintings from around October 2012 up til the present../. Watch this space…./.. //./.
