Down To The Bone. .. . .///. / .
Down To The Bone.. / /. Last night was meet the artist night at the Onca gallery for DTTB.
DTTB is A collective exhibition of works from varied disciplines in recognition and support of street dogs living overseas. To be hung, open to the public at ONCA Gallery, 14 St George’s Place, Brighton from the 24th until the 30th Sept 2013.
ONCA has a passion for art that integrates with environmental conservation and strives to raise awareness of how environmental change affects every living thing. For whatever reason the dogs we are caring for have found themselves abandoned by owners and on the street. Be it economical, governmental or even military, we have changed their environment and so ONCA Gallery is a most welcome and supportive venue for this collection of work.
There are many street dogs needing support all over the world so why have we chosen to help those in Portugal and Spain? One of the organisers of the exhibition has, for many years, worked in these countries and has seen problems and suffering on a scale that does not happen here in England. There are too many dogs in shelters in the UK awaiting adoption but we have a support network – the animals here, in the main, have basic but good care, water, food a dry bed. Even these most simple needs are not met abroad, the dogs really do have to live on the street or if rounded up they are kept in appalling conditions for a few days before being PTS (put to sleep). These dogs have crossed the organiser’s path, called out for help and had their cries answered. This special lady has seen the problem in her own environment and has taken action. These are the dogs that all funds raised through the exhibition will help.
I was very proud to be invited to take part in this show and to be exhibited along side such well established artists././ .
Here is the piece i contributed to the show./.

A Lot Of Love.. . .. . . / .
This Valentines just gone i painted at a fund raiser for flood victims of the Philippines along side three other incredible artists, the resulting pieces were auctioned off to send aid.. . . … . .
Tropical Storm Washi devastated the Philippines on December 16 and 17, 2011. The storm was not powerful in the traditional sense—it’s winds never surpassed 55 knots (100 kilometers per hour or 63 miles per hour) and it lacked the organization of an intense typhoon or hurricane. Nonetheless, Washi unleashed extremely heavy rain on northwest Mindanao and the resulting floods left hundreds dead or missing. Tropical storm Washi brought heavy rains, overflowing rivers and flash floods to the southern Philippines from December 16 to 18, sweeping away whole villages built on sandbars and riverbanks.
More than 376,000 people were displaced by the storm and almost 55,000 are still huddled in crowded makeshift evacuation centres.
