Obsessive followers would have noted of late most of my works of the past year are based around the art of tattoo and graphic design. Many artists go through dramatic changes as their lives influence their decisions and their work. I am one such example../.
I have recently started work as a tattoo apprentice at Black Sails Tattoo Brighton, because of this i am finding less and less time for painting and creating Fine Art, it also means i have less and less space for my previous works and my new work expands and takes over i must make room for such changes. I have always been an advocate of free art, street exhibitions and vandalism, In a fond farewell to some of my earliest “serious” art works i found the perfect place to wave goodbye and grow a little… .. ././. Here’s to always moving forward./ .
They Were Broken…/. But Still Loved/ … /.
A bit of a delay with this post, totally my fault for not retrieving the photos in time../ .But last week was the trial run of ‘F i n d M e’ a free art give away which if it went well will co inside with my new solo show ‘Just Because Things Break, Doesn’t Mean They’re Broken’ and it went very well indeed…. ./ ./
Last week i dropped 30 original pieces of broken pottery around Brighton Uni, and asked those who found them to bring them back at the end of the week to try and reassemble them into some sort of big fractured piece of art. I only expected about 5 to come back but nearly half of the pieces came back! which means that went i do the full run of 300 pieces in April around 150 should come back (if that’s not too presumptuous)Â Below are some photos of all the pieces that went out../ coming soon will be pictures of them actually out, and some pictured of those lovely people who brought them back….. . . /. A huge thanks to all who took the time to bring them back and to Hazel Stephenson and Karol Michalec for being such a tremendous help… . /////. /

The whole opening weekend of ‘Everything Changes’ was an absolute blast.. .. i got 5 metres worth of drawing done which i will get pics of soon and a video in the near future.. . .. .and the entire show was very well received so much so it has been extended from Aug 2nd to Sept 8th so for those of you who have missed it you now have two months to catch it.. . . . . . /. /. Pictures from opening weekend .. . . Those committed followers out there im sure are more then aware now that my solo show at the Lewis Elton Gallery, Guildford opens on Saturday.. . . Tomorrow i will be hanging all the pieces and turning what is otherwise a rather conservative space into a reflection of my world.. .. . I do hope to see most of you there over the weekend or on the private view which is Monday 16th 6-8pm.. . . ./.. But until then here is a little sneak at two paintings which have not yet been shown.. .. . you will have to come to the show to see them in full .. . .. . .. . . . . .././. ../. or wait until the show is over./

I have a new solo show opening this weekend at the Lewis Elton Gallery, Guildford.. . . . .. There will be live art, new illustrations, new original paintings, and an original score composed especially for the show by Joe Guilder at Boneyard Audio… /. /./. I do hope to see you there. . . /./.
‘In this space, watch the works evolve and mutate in an explosive way, leaking on to the walls and extending its reach into new grounds as Jakob performs his own brand of live art works to soundscapes and music composed specially for the exhibition by Joe Gilder. Using found canvases of wood, and other abandoned materials, Jakob creates an organic outlook on modern society in this personal and though provoking exhibition.
